Christmas Decorating Ideas - Edible Decorations

Although it is now more decades than I care to admit too often , there are four things I loved about my childhood Christmases in England:

1)- the excitement of Christmas presents are under the Christmas tree, then on Christmas morning opening gifts Family ;

2)- food, candy are all special broadcast on Christmas Eve , Christmas dinner with turkey , lots of roasted potatoes , brandy butter and Christmas pudding to set fire to the table;

3)- all the ornaments and Christmas decorations up before Christmas, and especially to decorate the Christmas tree, and

4)- play games .

Food, however, has played an important role , and still does in English homes today. So, really , it is not surprising that food has even become part of the repertoire of Christmas decoration . Food, in one way or another, is part of the Christmas decoration.

From my memory, edible Christmas decorations were usually chocolate packaging in the form of money or gold that shone in the tree. Chocolate coins were popular , sometimes more than one in a string bag dangling temptingly colorful Christmas tree.

I must confess that any edible ornament on the tree has become a priority , as I was looking forward to the approval of my parents to start devouring everything I wanted.

Later, however , a greater variety of edible decorations emerged as candy canes , and then, as the popularity of edible ornaments increased at Christmas, people started to use their imagination to make your own , or the baker would place more elaborate ornaments for sale.

Cookies , or at least cookie dough , a good base for ornaments because they are easy to cut to shape. You can use your imagination on adding color, for example with Smarties or other candy colors. Add effect of icing is not too difficult either.

If you make dough ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree, do not forget that you have to make a hole in the cookie before it cools , which is the icing on the cake. Then, when they make it fresh , you can put a decorative ribbon to hang on the Christmas tree.

The tea table is often decorated with Christmas ornament edible first Christmas cake. The best is best for decoration once lunch is on the way. Cake decorating is limited only by your imagination. However, one can think of other things that are less common to adorn the table as an edible garnish. If you are clever , you can create simple models with gingerbread, raise the level of the old man of gingerbread.

You will find many ideas online and in stores, but if you can come up with something original , that's even better . Let your imagination and see what you have . At least if you 're not very good, you can eat before anyone comments !
