The Process Of Making Doll Molds For Sale

By Paul Hayes

You can easily make a fortune through the sale of different toy selections. It is a simple process which does not require any experience or training. You need to purchase a previous made doll or make one using clay. You also need to have a kit which contains relevant materials required in this process. Below are steps on how to make doll molds for sale to take into consideration.

Consider the type of form to use. One can decide to use a one-dimensional object or a three-dimensional object with respect to demand in the market. One dimensional objects require one to have a flat surface which he or she can place the flat part of the object. Measure the object that you intend to use to have an idea of the dimension of your containment box.

Construct the containment box. A containment box is required to pour the molds inside while reproducing the dolls. You can use any material as long as its edges are smooth to create airtight edges. The container walls should be at least one inch from object to allow enough space to fill the mold. Use glue to stick the edges if you want the box to work effectively.

Ensure your object is ready. Place the one-dimension object on a fast release square material or clay to ensure that the mold does not leak when poured in the container. For a three dimension object, one should insert it on the adhesive compound or clay up to a half of its size. Make sure that the surface which is exposed is smooth to achieve a smooth mold as well.

Mix the entire mold. One can use a latex mold, rubber or a reusable material when making the respective mold. Latex is cheap but takes a long time to set. Silicon rubber is the best choice to make since it takes less time to set and produces quality objects. Reusable materials are not reliable since they cannot be used through heat casting process even though they can be melted once more. Consider the instruction provided on the kit to make the respective mold required for this process.

Prepare the surface of an object for mold pouring. Use a small brush to paint the epoxy material on the surface of your object to take care of detailed parts. Pay attention while painting to ensure that small surfaces and services are considered. After that, you can pour the mold until the box is in its full height. Allow the content to set as instructed in its package.

Extract the work. A one-dimensional object does not have a lot of steps to consider while extracting the work. Start by tearing the containment box to expose the respective mold. Remove the object from the rubber and have the mold ready for use.

The process of removing a three-dimensional doll. Expose half of the mold after you have removed the edges of a box. Start by removing the dry mold on the adhesive material or clay part to expose part of the object. On the other surface, make pyramid shape holes with a hobby knife to join the two halves easily. Apply Vaseline on the other part to avoid having them stick together.
