Overview On CNC Machine Video Training

By Brian Butler

Machines that executes control commands that are programmed beforehand are called Computer Numerical control machines. Transforming stock materials like blocks of metal, plastic or wood into a finished product is its use. Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing are used in making digital designs interpreted into instructions used in cutting parts.

You may want to learn how to operate them for different reasons. This may be a requirement for a new job or you want to make something as a prospective business venture. Either way, there are CNC machine video training that are available for you to use in helping you learn the process in operating it.

The basic process of creating an object with the use of these machines begins with designing it first. You can achieve this using a CAD software installed in your computer. The design will be translated then into directives using the CAM software and will be converted to specific codes or commands for CNC machines.

The codes programmed will be then tested to ascertain that no problems will happen by an operator. This process called cutting air is an essential step. When there are mistakes with regard to the speed or the tool positions then a possibility of producing a scrapped part or the machine being damaged will happen.

There are two categories of CNC machines generally. These are called conventional technologies and novel technologies. The conventional uses tools that are more on the physical side like drills, lathes and milling machines. Drilling spins a drill bit and move it into contact against a stationary stock material while lathes spin the material instead and cuts it when the spinning material touches the tool.

Meanwhile, novel technologies are using specialized cutting techniques. The techniques include plasma cutting, water jet cutting, laser cutting machine and electronic beam machining. These techniques are usually used in manufacturing a great number of materials made out of durable metals. Conventional are used commonly in making prototypes.

Different materials are possible to be used as well. Some examples of them are plastics, wood, fiberglass, steel, copper and other metals. The materials to be used largely depends on what the object you wish to create and what its uses would be. The many options of various materials you can use gives it an advantage over 3D printing which has limited types of material available as of now.

Objects and the parts for it were manually machined before resulting in large margins of error. Using CNC machines, it can lessen the margin of error to a minimum and the process repeated a number of times with precision. Making of complex shapes is also possible. Companies use these in mass production for their products and the parts of it because of its ability to repeat various processes while the precision is still maintained in all the objects created.

These are just the basic overview of the process involved in CNC machining. If you want to learn more, you should check out some videos for you to exactly see how these things work. A background in mathematics, mechanical drafting and industrial arts is useful to have.
