Looking To Find Inner Peace

One can consider ACIM or A Course in Miracles as a self-study material that can help individuals to regain peace and built up their mental strength. It also teaches individuals how forgiveness plays an important role in our daily life. It is a book, but doesn't considerably have an author; however one can find it listed in the US library.

One of the purest ways to maintain inner peace is acceptance; one might be experiencing several kinds of emotions, whether it is being sad or angry. Constantly practicing acceptance will bring you at a point where you will no longer feel upset and sad anymore. This will then help you to avoid all kinds of problems and distractions and find out the inner peace without much difficulty.

ACIM or A Course in Miracles definitely became very popular after its first ever publications and has sold a lot of copies since then. The popularity of the book has led publication to translate the book into many other languages too, to increase its accessibilities to more people.

Like said above, the origin of the book is known to be in the 1970s, it was Helen Schucman who first experience the inner voice and which led her to William Thetford. The book have had several editors one of them was Kenneth Wapnick, who was a psychologist and one of the initial editors of the book. When they both met they did go through all the lessons that Helen had heard and revised them and then published it for the students or followers.

Later they also got the opportunity to meet Robert Skutch and Judith Skutch Whitson, members of the Foundation for inner peace. Then in the 1976 the first book was published, both the Foundation and Penguin Book publishers wanted to own the copyright for the material, however due to litigations the first edition of the book is still under public domain.

The Course is considered as a teaching device; of course the learning provided in the Course, is life changing. A Course in Miracles material has been divided into three books, the text which has around 600 pages and the student's workbook where it gets to experience the lessons, and a 90 page teacher's manual for better assessment of the students.

The emphasis of the course is to project both the theoretical and practical aspects of life using the books material. One has to go through the text book to understand the base, only then it can understand the Workbook and its applications.

You must accept yourself as you are and not try to blame or judge yourself. When you have acknowledged all the aspects of your inner self, which also includes the negative parts, you are in a position to make changes without and disturbances. When you do not judge yourself with the qualities and the negativities that you have you create more space for inner peace.
