How To Be A Saxophone Player Fabian

By Marci Nielsen

Staying in this profession takes more than a great pair of hands. You still have to consider the steps below for you to make people happy that they came all the way to see you. Be able to capture their hearts and show to them that the best things in life are not in the shows which they watch.

You would have to relax. Remember that your greatest asset as a saxophone player Fabian is your breath. Thus, try to be calm before your performance. Think about other things aside from the people who are waiting for you outside. Condition your mind to be calm for the body to follow right away.

Close your eyes and get lost in the music. Perfection will never be achieved if you shall be too conscious with your hands. They know what to do for as long as you already know the pieces like the back of your hand. The audience will also appreciate it more if they can see your whole profile without any music stand getting in the way.

Listen to classical music and love it. Remember that your target is in the older generation. Also, have more appeal to richer clients by showing to them that you know your craft indeed. Talk with class and be among the few musicians who never run out of gigs. Support your needs in the best way you know how.

Play different tracks even if they have not been original composed for a saxophone. In that way, you can add your own flavor to it and evoke a different emotion from your audience. Be original as much as possible and your name will soon be a legend in the circle which you are in. Authenticity is your true test as a musician.

Be very articulate with your pieces. If you have to practice them for several times, so be it. Moreover, have someone listen to you when you are playing. Be open to criticism especially if that someone is a person whom you consider as your mentor. This can help you make sure that you shall not be put to shame.

Practice with recordings. This can prevent you from getting lost when it is time for the whole orchestra to but in. Having great listening skills is important especially when you have to tune the instrument yourself. You should be independent to prevent any sabotage on your end.

Combine pieces together if you can. However, this would still depend on the audience that you are playing for. If all of them are conservative, stick with the arrangement which have been given to you by your maestro. You would only be allowed to play around if this is already your solo concert.

Have passion for your music. People will only love you if you do not mind looking ugly for as long as you are able to display the true meaning of the piece. Be on stage not just because of the money and most especially not for instant fame.
